UK airport crowned as home to the 'cheapest pre-flight pint' for less than £5
A UK airport has been named as the cheapest place to enjoy a beverage before jetting off on holiday, with one establishment serving up airport pints for less than £5.
Many Britons choose to celebrate the beginning of their holiday with a celebratory pint or glass of bubbles, but the price of beverages at the airport tend to be substantially more than you might pay elsewhere. However, new research has named the airport serving up the cheapest drinks for passengers, with one establishment, in particular, serving up pints cheaper than the national average.
Glasgow International Airport was crowned the "cheapest" place to enjoy a pre-flight drinks and also topped the charts for travellers' reviews, with an impressive 4.5 out of a possible five on Google reviews.

The data was collected from the UK's most popular UK airports by Velloy, who found that Tennent's Pier Bar at Glasgow International ranked the cheapest airport establishment to purchase a pint of beer, charging travellers £4.79.
By comparison, London Pride By Fullers at Heathrow was found to be the most expensive establishment for a pint, with the average pint on draught costing £10.05. The overall average cost of a pint at UK airports is £6.70.
Collecting the price of pints at bars, restaurants and pubs within Glasgow Airport, the experts found the average price of a cold beer to be £6.06 - the cheapest in Velloy's ranking.

At the other end of the spectrum is London Luton Airport, dubbed the "most expensive" UK airport to enjoy a pre-flight pint. Though the average price of a pint in London is £5.90, at London Luton expect to shell out almost £2 more. Travellers are likely to spend £7.36 for their beverage here.
Home to the most expensive pub pint, Heathrow was hot on Luton's heels with the overall average cost of a pint of beer coming in at £7.14
For those who don’t drink alcohol, the study also revealed that 71 percent of the bars, pubs and restaurants at the airports analysed offer an alcohol-free pint option.
