Travellers should never leave hotel without using shower cap, says flight attendant
Most hotels offer complimentary toiletries including shower caps, and a flight attendant has shared some clever ways to use them when travelling.
Dutch flight attendant Esther Sturrus, who currently flies for KLM and is based in the Netherlands, often shares clever travel hacks on her TikTok channel @esthersturrus.
In a recent video, she shared three "handy ways to use a shower cap in the hotel room".
Her first recommendation was to use the shower cap to cover the remote control as "these are dirty".
Shower caps can also be handy "to stop the dripping noise from the shower at night," and to "protect your shoes in your suitcase".
Other users and travel enthusiasts took to the comments section to share their thoughts with one saying: "Never knew this hack - very useful. Great as always!"

Travel experts at styledegree shared other creative ways to use a shower cap when holidaying abroad, including as a "food cover".
They explained: "If you have a bowl of leftovers and want to protect flies away from your food, snap a shower cap over the bowl to use it as a lid cover."
Shower caps can also be used as a swim cap, to store beach wear, to keep liquids from spilling, to store dirty laundry or to protect your phone during wet weather.
Why do hotels give complimentary shower caps?
Deborah, a former hotel worker, explained on the social media platform Quora: "People used to wash their hair less often so shower caps were more frequently used and were expected."
Nowadays, however, some hotels have stopped offering them but still have them available upon request.
Deborah continued: "Lots of people like to shower but don't want to get their hair wet - maybe they want to make a blow out or another hairstyle last longer, for instance.
"But some hotels still have them in the rooms. It's not that costly to keep them in there, because they are pretty inexpensive and because many of them are never opened so they don't have to be replaced daily."
