Tottenham learn of Zinedine Zidane's intentions after rejecting offer to join Ronaldo
Tottenham are still searching for a new manager.
Head coach Antonio Conte leaves Tottenham by mutual consent
Tottenham's search for a new manager continues. The north London club are running out of options after a string of rejections from top European bosses but may find comfort in Zinedine Zidane's intentions to return to management.
Zidane is hoping to take the reins at a major club in Europe's top five leagues after two years out of a job, as per Football Espana. This was highlighted by Zidane's choice to reject the opportunity to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.
The Saudi Pro League side reportedly offered the Frenchman a two-year contract, worth £130.5million (€150m), but he chose to turn it down as it did not match his ambitions. Whether Spurs would be considered a major club at this stage is debatable having failed to qualify for the Champions League next season.
But Daniel Levy would no doubt be interested in acquiring the ex-Real Madrid boss's services should he become available. The Tottenham chief has struggled to fill the vacancy after parting ways with Antonio Conte and was recently snubbed by top target Arne Slot.
Slot had been heavily linked with the job but has chosen to stay at Feyenoord next season. "I have been hearing a lot of rumours going around about other clubs' interest in me. Although I am thankful, my wish is to stay at Feyenoord and continue working on what we created last year," he said.
"Yesterday's meeting was exclusively for an extension. All talks with the club have always been only in that sense. I'm looking forward to next season with Feyenoord."

The Dutchman is expected to sign a contract extension worth over £2.5million a year following his stellar Eredivisie-winning campaign. Tottenham also received the cold shoulder from Mauricio Pochettino and ruled out a move for Julian Nagelsmann earlier this month.
However, the 35-year-old is now back in the running for the role as Tottenham retain a tentative interest in him. Other managers linked with the job are Graham Potter, Luis Enrique and Ange Postecoglou.
