Campbell Hatton blitzes foe with lightning-quick stoppage on Anthony Joshua undercard
Campbell Hatton didn't hang around on the Anthony Joshua vs Jermaine Franklin undercard.
Campbell Hatton took just 89 seconds to dispatch former Midlands Area title challenger Louis Fielding. The 22-year-old crunched home a sickening left hook to the body that stopped Fielding in his tracks.
It has been a steep learning curve for the son of British boxing legend Ricky Hatton since turning over two years ago. Many believe he was fortunate to get the nod against Spaniard Sonni Martinez the last time he fought on an Anthony Joshua undercard - when the Watford powerhouse met Oleksandr Usyk for the first time in September 2021.
But there were no questions being asked about his performance on the AJ vs Jermaine Franklin main card tonight. From the off, it was clear Hatton had the superior hand speed as he snapped back Fielding's head with several swift jabs.
Edging his feet in, Hatton began to tag his longer opponent's body and crunched home a beautiful left hook to the liver that took the wind out of Fielding's sails.

Speaking after the conclusion of the contest, a delighted Hatton said: "We work on everything at this stage in my career. But the main thing we have been working on is taking my time and picking my shots.
"In the past, I've had that mindset to go in there and try and bulldoze people and throw a lot of shots. And I've shown there what I can do when I just pick one and take my time."

When asked if he was disappointed that the fight had ended so quickly, Hatton who last fought three weeks ago, replied: "No. I think it would have been nice to show everyone because in the past I have tired at the back end of fights.
"And we know how fit I am, I'm as fit as fiddle. I would have liked to have shown that I've got the gas but if you don't have to, you don't need to and I'd happily take one of those every time."
