Countryfile was back on Sunday night and saw Sammi Kinghorn and Matt Baker visiting the Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve.
Countryfile: Matt Baker and Sammi Kinghorn open the show
Countryfile viewers were left fuming on Sunday night and within minutes many fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the episode. One branded the instalment "woke", while another felt the content of the nature show resembled the children's programme, Blue Peter.
During the hour-long programme, Sammi Kinghorn and Matt Baker took viewers to Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve between the Severn Estuary and the River Usk, which is one of the best sites in the country to view birdlife, including starling murmurations.
In the Cotswolds, Adam Henson was visited by the vet for a thorough health check of his livestock, while Tom Heap investigated plans to drill for oil in a number of our most beautiful landscapes.
However, many unhappy viewers took to social media to share their thoughts, one fan fumed: "#CountryFile 30 seconds of watching is enough! Eco-warriors believing the #ClimateScam nonsense!"

Another joked: "What if a duck did yoga?" #countryfile tackling all the serious issues tonight." (sic)
"Another episode of Coastfile. And Doomlord #countryfile," a third added as a fourth viewer complained: "#countryfile This is so woke now. #DefundTheBBC."
A fifth replied: "Stopped watching it’s got dreadful. Needs a separate programme to cover all the new inclusions
"Blue Peter edition #Countryfile," one fan echoed.

While another stated: "Used to enjoy the show but now it's just a climate change mouthpiece. No real input about what's actually happening in the countryside." (sic)
Not everyone shared the same viewers as one fan defended: " Watching #countryfile and enjoying the views of #newportwetlands one of my favourite places to bird watch and paint."
Introducing Sunday's show, Matt began: "Winter is well and truly got its grip on the UK.
"It's colder, it's wetter and storms have been lashing us, but there's still plenty of reasons to enjoy this time of year."
He continued: "Wetlands National Nature Reserve is a vibrant place for both people and wildlife.
"These wetlands may look like they've always been here, but actually, this habitat was created back in 2000 and laid on the foundations of ashes from that coal-fired power station."
Sammi weighed in: "It's now one of the best sites in the country to view bird life and that's why we're here to see one of nature's greatest displays."
Countryfile returns on Sunday at 6pm on BBC One.
