Fans fume Sadie Sink was ‘robbed’ as Jenna Ortega snatches MTV Best Performance award
Jenna Ortega has been honoured with the MTV Best Performance award for her role in Netflix's Wednesday, but fans think another star was more worthy of the award.
Wednesday: Netflix announces second season of hit show
MTV Movie and TV Awards viewers have gone into a meltdown after Jenna Ortega was given the Best Performance award.
Jenna was up against Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink, Aubrey Plaza for her role in The White Lotus, Christina Ricci for Yellowjackets, Riley Keough from Daisy Jones & The Six and Selena Gomez for her part in Only Murders in the Building.
However, it was Jenna who came out on top, for her performance as Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s hit horror drama series Wednesday.
After it was announced that the Wednesday actress was taking home the Best Performance in a Show award, fans stormed to Twitter to vent their disappointment at the results.
Many claimed Stranger Things star Sadie Sink was “robbed” of the award, while others claimed Wednesday is “overrated”.

With @Account15516491 noting: “Wednesday is so overrated!! Sadie did so good.”
A fourth fan @4nywherebuthome questioned: “So is this a joke or?”
Alongside a clip of Sadie performing as Max in Stranger Things, @strangerquinnz wrote: “I LOVE JENNA BUT OVER SADIE SINK?? WHAT THE F**K?? OVER THIS????”
However, not all fans were disappointed that Jenna took home the award.
