Ruth Jones has been close with James Corden for the past two decades with the Gavin and Stacey star fiercely defending him over the years.

James, 44, was once banned from a New York restaurant after being branded as an “abusive customer”. He was also labelled as a “tiny cretin of a man” by the restaurateur.
It was claimed the TV host yelled "like crazy” in his eatery. However, James later apologised for his behaviour.
At the time Ruth spoke out and admitted that her friend of over two decades just wears his heart on his sleeve. In an interview with The Sun, the writer revealed that he is a huge softie underneath and once left her shocked.
Back in 2019 when they were filming the BBC Christmas special for Gavin and Stacey the pair shared a sweet moment after filming wrapped. James confessed that he would be “lost” without her.
She admitted that she was totally taken aback by the endearing confession: “And he kept mumbling, and I said (loudly), ‘What?’ and he said (loudly), ‘I would be lost without you”.

While sitting in the kitchen area at the dinner table, Gary Goldsmith, Kate Middleton’s uncle was heard saying: “When my friends talk about people they know or people they've met, we would always take the mick and say, 'Well if you drop the names, I'll pick them up.'"
Referring to a chat he had earlier with Nikita Kuzmin, who is a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing – where he had mentioned some A-listers he knew in the business.
The star claimed James was a bragger and often enjoyed telling people what designer clothes he owned.
She also confessed that she felt he “played the LA game” when he left the UK for Hollywood Sharon said: “I go to him, ‘I really like your shoes,’ and he goes, 'Yeah, Stella McCartney.’ I'm like, I didn't ask you who made them, I just said I like your shoes."
